      • Welcome to Sunfolk

Founded in 1931 as the Sun-Folk Society, Sunfolk is a five-acre woodland retreat near St Albans with almost a century of naturist history. Today, it is owned and cared for by British Naturism, a not-for-profit organisation, and supported day to day by a dedicated team of volunteer wardens.

Whether you come for a day visit, camp beneath the trees or stay in one of our glamping pods, our aim is simple: to provide a safe, relaxed and welcoming place where everyone can enjoy naturism and feel at home.

We also take practical steps to reduce waste, use resources responsibly and care for Sunfolk’s woodland setting. Find out more about our approach to sustainability.

      • Our Volunteer Wardens

British Naturism is a not-for-profit organisation, and Sunfolk is operated by a dedicated team of volunteers who help keep the site running smoothly and make every visit as welcoming and enjoyable as possible.

All our wardens are trained in first aid and safeguarding. During your visit, you will often see them—or Hazel, our housekeeper—busy preparing the pods between guests, checking the spa facilities, washrooms and kitchen, welcoming new arrivals and showing visitors around the site.

An equally important part of the warden’s role is helping everyone feel relaxed and at home. For our team, one of the greatest pleasures of the day is simply chatting with the many lovely guests who visit Sunfolk.

Do you have what it takes to be a warden?

Interested in joining our volunteer warden team? If you are a BN member, we would love to hear from you.
