      • Accessibility at Sunfolk

Practical information to help you plan a comfortable visit.

      • A welcoming place for everyone

We want Sunfolk to be welcoming and usable by as many people as possible. Disabled visitors are a regular and valued part of the Sunfolk community, and we want to make planning a visit as straightforward as we can.

The main visitor area is largely level, with parking close to the principal route into the site, ramped access to the deck and pavilion, and an accessible toilet. Some areas and facilities are less accessible than we would like, however, and individual requirements vary.

We therefore encourage visitors with particular access requirements to contact us before booking. We can explain the current arrangements, reserve a suitable parking space and discuss any practical assistance that may help.

        Parking and arrival

We can reserve one of the parking spaces closest to the path leading into the main site. Please contact us before your visit if you would like us to do this.

The main visitor area is on generally level ground, although some outdoor surfaces may be uneven and conditions can vary after wet weather.

        Pavilion and toilet facilities

A ramp provides access to the pavilion, which contains an accessible toilet. The deck surrounding the principal facilities can also be reached by ramp.

        Using the spa facilities

Access arrangements differ between the swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. Our wardens can explain the facilities and offer reasonable practical assistance where it is safe and appropriate to do so. Please contact us before visiting if you would like to discuss your requirements.

        Camping and glamping

Our camping pitches and glamping pods vary in their location and ease of access. Please contact us before booking so that we can explain the available options and help identify the most suitable pitch or accommodation.

        Assistance and individual requirements

Accessibility needs are individual, and not every useful adjustment involves the physical layout of the site. Please contact us before visiting if there is something that would make your time at Sunfolk easier or more comfortable.

Where reasonably possible, we will explain the available options and make suitable practical arrangements before you arrive.

        Continuing to improve

Sunfolk is not perfectly accessible, and some parts of the site and its facilities still present barriers. We are continuing to review what we provide and to make practical improvements wherever we can.

We welcome constructive feedback from disabled visitors and others with accessibility requirements. First-hand experience helps us understand which changes would make the greatest difference.
