Important Arrival Check:
Before travelling, please ensure you have booked your visit and received your official confirmation email. Because our site is run by a rotating team of volunteer wardens, all visitors must bring a recognised form of photo ID or a BN membership card on every visit, even if you have visited us before.

First-Time Visitors & Etiquette
What happens when I arrive?
On arrival, press the buzzer by the main gate. A volunteer warden will let you know they are on their way to meet you. You will be greeted by a friendly warden, who will introduce themselves, check your booking name, and ask to see a form of identification (a British Naturism membership card is ideal, but any other recognised photo ID is fine). The warden will then give you a personal tour of the Sunfolk grounds, show you the facilities, and help you feel completely at home. When do I have to get undressed?
We want you to feel entirely welcome, and Sunfolk is a safe, friendly place to experience naturism for the first time. You do not have to get undressed the moment you step out of your car unless you want to. There is an expectation that visitors will take part in naturism, but you are very welcome to acclimatise for a little while first. By the time you have met a warden and had a friendly chat with one or two people, you will naturally start to feel more comfortable. One important exception is our spa area - clothing is strictly not worn in the pool, hot tub, or sauna.
Is there any etiquette I need to know?
Not much, really! The core naturist guideline is very simple: always sit on a towel wherever you sit. Relaxing directly on the grass is fine, but for chairs, picnic benches, poolside areas, and sauna seating, please use a clean towel. We also ask everyone to shower before using the spa facilities. Other than that, normal common courtesy applies: be friendly, respect people’s personal boundaries, and help keep Sunfolk relaxed for everyone.
What if I feel nervous?
That is completely normal! Almost everyone feels a little anxious before their very first naturist experience. You will never be rushed or pressured, and you will quickly find that Sunfolk is incredibly relaxed, ordinary, and down-to-earth once you are inside. Most first-time visitors settle in much more quickly than they ever expected.
Will I be left on my own when I arrive?
Not at all. A volunteer warden will meet you at the gate, check you in, show you around our pavilion infrastructure, and answer any lingering questions you might have. We know that first visits can feel a bit daunting, so we actively try to make arrival as easy and welcoming as possible.
Are single visitors, including single men, welcome?
Yes. Sunfolk welcomes people visiting alone, as couples or with friends, and single men are just as welcome as anyone else. We simply ask every visitor to behave respectfully, follow our site guidelines and respect other people’s privacy and personal boundaries.
Can I take photos at Sunfolk?
General photography is not allowed.
Non-consensual photography will lead to eviction from the site.
Photographs taken in quiet spaces where only you and your friends are in the viewfinder are acceptable, but recognise that if you are careless or attempt to take pictures in busy areas, you may be asked to leave.
Should I expect to see any sexual behaviour?
Absolutely not. Naturism is not sexual, and Sunfolk is a non-sexual naturist environment. Sexual activity or sexualised behaviour is not permitted in any shared or public area of the site. Harassment, unwanted attention or behaviour that affects others is not permitted anywhere at Sunfolk.
Our volunteer wardens help maintain a safe, respectful and welcoming environment, so visitors can feel confident about what Sunfolk represents. If anything makes you uncomfortable or you have concerns about someone’s behaviour, please speak to a warden.
Sunfolk is a place to relax, enjoy nature and spend time with others in a friendly setting. Anyone seeking a sexualised environment should not visit.
Planning Your Visit
I’m visiting for the day. Can I bring food?
You are very welcome to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy on the grounds. We also have a well-stocked internal selection of snacks and light meals available on-site, so you certainly won't need to go hungry.
Do I have to be a member of British Naturism or Sunfolk?
No. British Naturism: Sunfolk is open to everyone looking to try naturism, whether for a day visit or a longer stay. While members of British Naturism or the INF save a considerable amount of money via discounted rates, visiting is open to all. Please note that direct membership to Sunfolk itself is not possible - we operate strictly as a pay-as-you-go facility.
What should I bring for a day visit?
A clean towel to sit on is your most important essential. You will also want to pack high-factor sunscreen, a water bottle, a second towel if you plan to use the showers or spa facilities, and something warm to change into if you are staying past dusk into the cooler evenings.
I’m a first-time naturist. What might I not have thought about?
Sunscreen! Even if you do not usually burn, newly exposed areas of skin can catch the British sun very quickly. Please bring plenty of sunscreen and apply it generously. Sunburn is not fun, especially in places that have not seen much direct sunlight before!
Can I bring my dog?
Quiet and well-behaved dogs are welcome at Sunfolk, but strict site rules apply to maintain the absolute comfort and hygiene of our barefoot guests. Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times and are restricted exclusively to the car park and pitch bays, so not for tent campers or day visitors. They are strictly prohibited on the main grass lawns or inside any buildings. What are the site arrival and departure times?
Day Guests: Arrival is from 10am and departure is by 8pm the same day.
Camping & Glamping: Arrival is from Midday and departure is by 11am on your day of departure.
We work hard to give you as much time as possible at Sunfolk, which means our changeover windows are tight. If you are camping and wish to stay longer on your final day, you are very welcome to purchase a discounted day pass, provided you move your vehicle to the main parking space.
Can I use a barbecue at Sunfolk?
Yes. A gas barbecue is available for guests to use free of charge. You are also welcome to bring your own barbecue, provided it is used only in the designated gravel barbecue area or on the gravel beside your touring pitch.
For everyone’s safety, barbecues must not be used on grassed areas, and guests may not light their own open fires. Barbecue use is subject to the wardens’ discretion and any seasonal or local fire restrictions in force at the time.
Are there local shops or takeaways nearby?
Yes, Sunfolk is exceptionally well-placed for local amenities. There is a small Co-Op supermarket that is just a five-minute walk away. On the same local parade, you will also find a traditional fish and chip shop, an Indian takeaway, and an off-licence.
Where can I smoke at Sunfolk?
Smoking and vaping are permitted only in the designated smoking area. They are not permitted elsewhere on the site, including other gravelled areas, touring pitches, accommodation or around the campfire.
Please dispose of cigarette ends and vapes safely and follow any additional instructions from the wardens during periods of increased fire risk.
Camping, Touring & Glamping
I’m coming to camp. What kitchen equipment do I need to bring?
None! We have a fully equipped shared pavilion kitchen with everything you are likely to need, including complete cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, a dishwasher, and, most importantly, plenty of bottle openers. You are very welcome to bring your own favourite personal bits and pieces if you prefer, but you do not need to pack a heavy camping kitchen set.
Can I stay at Sunfolk in a roof tent?
Yes. Vehicles fitted with roof tents are very welcome at Sunfolk. Because the tent remains attached to the vehicle, please book a caravan and motorhome touring pitch rather than a tent-camping pitch. Be sure to include everyone staying when you make your booking.
What is provided in the glamping pods?
Our furnished glamping pods sleep up to two people, with a choice of a double or twin layout. Bedding is provided, and each pod has an electric heater for cooler nights.
Outside, you will have your own decked area with a table and chairs for eating or relaxing. Guests also have full use of Sunfolk’s shared kitchen, showers, pool, sauna, hot tub and grounds.
Most other things you may need can be found in the pavilion. Please contact us before your stay if you are unsure what to bring.
Is electric hook-up available?
Yes. Electric hook-up is available for caravans, campervans and motorhomes for an additional charge. Please add it when making your booking so that we can allocate a suitable pitch.
Can I use the site before my accommodation is ready?
Yes. Tent campers can access their pitch from 10am, while touring pitches are available from noon. Glamping guests may arrive from 10am and enjoy Sunfolk’s facilities, although pods are not available until 3pm.
Please vacate pitches and pods by 10am on the day of departure.
How many people are included in an overnight booking?
Tent, touring-pitch and glamping prices include up to two occupants. Additional tent campers can be added during booking, while glamping pods sleep a maximum of two people.
Please include every guest when making your booking so that any additional guest charges and non-member supplements are calculated correctly.
Do I need to bring cooking equipment?
Sunfolk has a shared kitchen with refrigeration, cooking equipment, crockery and utensils for guests to use. You are welcome to bring your own equipment too, particularly if you have specialist requirements.
Please label your food and leave shared areas clean and ready for the next person.
Is freezer space available?
No. There is shared refrigerator space for guests, but no communal freezer. Please plan accordingly and avoid bringing food that must remain frozen.
Is there an Elsan disposal point at Sunfolk?
Yes. An Elsan disposal point is available behind the utility block in the car park for guests staying in caravans, campervans and motorhomes. Please use this point when emptying portable toilets or waste tanks and leave the area clean after use.
Facilities & Working from Sunfolk
Can I use the pool, hot tub and sauna on my first visit?
Yes, provided our spa facilities are open and operating normally during your visit. Please ensure you shower before entering the spa facilities, and remember that clothing is strictly not worn in the pool, hot tub, or sauna.
Do you have sun loungers available?
We do not currently provide sun loungers on-site, but we do have plenty of picnic tables, spacious wooden decking, and beautiful lawns where you can stretch out. Please bring your own comfortable towel, blanket, or mat if you would like to lie out on the grass.
Can I work remotely while visiting Sunfolk?
Yes. Visitors are welcome to bring a laptop and work from Sunfolk. Free guest Wi-Fi is available, and people often use the pavilion or communal lounge while enjoying the peaceful woodland surroundings. The connection is generally suitable for email, browsing and everyday online work, although it should not be relied upon for business-critical or high-bandwidth tasks. Mobile data coverage is generally good too.
These are shared spaces rather than dedicated offices, so quiet or uninterrupted working cannot be guaranteed. Video calls are not permitted because photography and filming are prohibited throughout the site.

Accessibility & Support
I have accessibility requirements. Can I visit Sunfolk?
Disabled visitors are a regular and valued part of the Sunfolk community. The main visitor area is largely level, with nearby parking, ramped access to the deck and pavilion, and an accessible toilet. Some areas and facilities are less accessible than we would like, so please contact us before booking to discuss your individual requirements and any practical arrangements that may help.

What do the volunteer wardens do?
Our volunteer wardens welcome visitors, show new arrivals around, look after the facilities and help keep Sunfolk running smoothly. All wardens are trained in first aid and safeguarding, and they help maintain a safe, respectful and welcoming environment. They are also available if you have a question, need practical help or wish to raise a concern.
